SAFETY ON THE INTERNET

The internet is a place with it's own very special rules. People who communicate over the Internet are called "cybercitizens". It's important too learn the rules of the Internet before you log on so that you can be a "good cybercitizen".
Always get permission from your parents before going onto the internet.
Never give out personal information like your name, your address, school name or telephone number.
Never write to someone who makes you feel scared or uncomfortable.
Do not meet someone or have them visit you without the permission of your parents.
Tell your parents right away if you read anything on the Internet that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Remember that people online may not be who they say they are. Someone who says that "she is a 12 year old girl" could really be an older man.

Several internet safety sites can be found via any number of search engines which parents and their children can review together to insure safe and successful computer use.
